The eldest of seven children, she helped raise her younger siblings after her mother passed away at a young age. She served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. She earned a graduate degree from the University of Scranton in 2017. She is currently finishing her PhD in Management at Walden University. Her career experience includes working in operations management for global supply chain companies and as the owner and principal consultant at Raya Enterprises, LLC in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
In the community, she has been part of the Old Bridge Democratic Organization since 2018. She started formally getting involved in the political system after the 2016 presidential election. Prior, she had only been involved as a volunteer for Representative Rush Holt’s (D-Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, Union) bid for U.S. Senate and as a summer fellow for Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president in 2016. Throughout the years, she has volunteered in organizations in the northeast region including New York Cares, American Red Cross, United Services Organization, iMentor, and Climate Reality Project.
She is running for office to bring new perspectives and fresh ideas in politics in New Jersey. She wants to be the voice of compassion and inclusion in the New Jersey General Assembly. When elected, she will be the first democratic woman representing LD-12 in the Assembly and the first Asian American Pacific Islander woman elected in the NJ state legislature. She will work to ensure full protection of women’s reproductive freedom, create green jobs and protect the environment, and care for children, seniors, and veterans.
